VIRGINIA LEISTER Obituary

VIRGINIA MAY LEISTER, 78, OF GILBERTSVILLE Virginia May (Murphy) Leister, 78 of Gilbertsville, passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at home surrounded by her family. She was born April 3, 1933 in Philadelphia, to the late Edna (Tooley) and Lawrence Murphy, Sr. Virginia married Walter D. Leister June 24, 1950 and were happily married for 61 years She was a stay at home Mom to raise their three children. After their children were grown, Virginia worked at Control Data, Pennhurst State Hospital and she retired from Norristown State Hospital. Her hobbies include crafts (especially wood), ceramics, and gardening, which she worked on until she became ill. Virginia was a member of the Trappe Eastern Star for 28 years. Virginia is survived by her loving husband, Walter; two daughters, Diane Brinckman of Port Charlotte, FL and Barbara (Harry) Bearde of Royersford; brother, Howard (Barbara) Murphy; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; many sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Walter Leister, Jr.; sister, Mary; brothers; Lawrence, Robert and James; brother-in-law; Francis; and son-in-law, Raymond Brinckman, III. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, November 14, 2011 at the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, Inc., 111 North Reading Avenue, Boyertown. Pastor Maryann Ranon-Lamson, pastor of Peace In Zion United Church of Christ, Zieglerville will officiate. A viewing will be Monday between 10 - 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Keelor's Union Cemetery, Obelisk. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Tri-County Home, Health and Hospice, 13 Armand Hammer Boulevard, Suite 201, Pottstown, PA 19464
