Evelyn Acker

Evelyn N. (Emes) Acker, 90, of Boyertown, wife of the late Ronald F. Acker of 62 years, passed away Friday Jan. 13, 2017 at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.
Born in Morysville, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Florence (Fry) Emes.
Evelyn graduated from Boyertown High School in 1944 and Reading Hospital School of Nursing in 1948. She then worked for the late Dr. Willard Grubb in his Boyertown office and also in Bally with the late Dr. Hugh Brown and Dr. Donald Loeper.
She was a member of Good Shepherd U.C.C. and enjoyed playing bridge, golf, and sewing.
Evelyn and her husband danced many times to "their song" Stardust, and she was also very fond of Boston Terrier dogs.
Surviving is one daughter, Susan Horn, wife of E. Richard of Boyertown; one son, Craig Acker of Casco, Maine; three grandchildren, Justin and Colin Horn and Wesley Acker; two great grandchildren, Jacob and Ethan Horn; one niece, Andrea Stahl; and one nephew, Mark Matlack.
Along with her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Betty V. Matlack.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of her family. Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 1020 E. Philadelphia Ave., Gilbertsville is in charge of arrangements.
