Jenny Krevolin Obituary

Jenny Krevolin

Rhinebeck - Jenny Krevolin, 81, died at home of a sudden heart attack on Thursday, November 17, 2016. She was born June 16, 1935 in Bielsko-Byala, Poland, the daughter of Eugenia Feigenbaum Goldberg and Rudolph Goldberg. Along with her sister, Susan, and her mother, she fled Poland in 1939 in the wake of the Nazi occupation. After a journey that took her and her family through Trieste, Nice, Lisbon and Jamaica, Jenny settled in New York City in 1942. Jenny graduated from Bronx High School of Science and Alfred University, where she met Lewis Krevolin. Jenny and Lew were married in 1956 and moved to the Hudson Valley in 1963. In addition to raising her three children and being active in the community, Jenny was a social worker in Kingston and worked in the Poughkeepsie Comptroller's Office. She earned an MBA from Marist College and retired as a financial analyst for the New York City Department of Investigation. In addition to Lew, Jenny is survived by three children: Rudy Krevolin (Debbie), New Bern, North Carolina, Ellie Krevolin, Monroe, Connecticut, and Benjamin Krevolin (John Sare), New York City; Rudy's daughter, Jessica Krevolin DeCarlo, and her daughter, Sophia; and Ellie's three sons: Jonathan Cairns, Timothy Cairns, and Dylan Cairns. The family will hold visiting hours at home from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, November 21 and 22. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in Jenny's memory be made either to Vassar Temple, Community Tzedakah Fund, Social Action, 140 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601, or Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley, Mid-Hudson Refugee Welcome Fund, http://bit.ly/2foy9G7.

Lewis and family, Your Jenny and your mother is so missed by me already. She was the dearest of friends and my roommate in college. She was so smart and she lived her life so compassionately.

Benjamin
So very sorry to hear about the loss of you Mom!
It seems as if the people we love are stolen from us. I found that the way to have them live on is to never stop loving them. Cherish the memories and think happy memories. It will put a smile on your face and warmth in your heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
