Brett McEnroe Obituary
DOVER PLAINS - Brett D. McEnroe, 49, a lifelong resident of Dover Plains, NY, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 in New York City.
Mr. McEnroe was an ironworker and foreman with the Ironworkers Union Local No. 417 in Newburgh, NY. He was also a dedicated employee of Cross County Construction in Pine Bush, NY.
Born July 20, 1961 in Sharon, CT, he was the son of Alfred and Rita (Cantele) McEnroe who survive in Dover Plains. He was a 1979 graduate of Dover High School and completed an Associate's degree at Dutchess Community College.
On July 30, 1983 in Dover Plains, NY, he married Dorothy E. Way who survives at home.
He was a parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Dover Plains.
An avid Jets fan, Brett was a loving husband, father, son and brother who was full of fun, jokes and who loved to smile and laugh.
Besides his parents and his wife, he is survived by a son, Justin McEnroe of Winsted, CT; a daughter, Dana McEnroe of Dover Plains, NY; a brother, Drew McEnroe of Middletown, RI and two sisters, Paige Falcon of Dover Plains, NY and Tara Meunier of Dover Plains, NY.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2011 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Mill St., Dover Plains, NY.
Burial will follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Dover Plains, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ironworkers Local No. 417 Scholarship Fund, 583 Route 32, Walkill, NY 12589.

Dear Family,
My heartfelt sympathies to you in this sorrowful time. I was shocked to hear when my mom told me about Brett. I remember a home movie reel, of one of the many family parties at my grandparents, with Brett pushing me on the swing. Dear McEnroe family, you have my deepest sympathy for the loss of Brett. I am a 417 Ironworker and have worked with Brett many times. I remember him as a guy who always had a smile on his face and one who could always make you laugh. He was an excellent worker and you knew you could count on him when things got tough. He was a true Ironworker in every way.
He will be missed.

I knew Brett for a short time worked with him for about 8 months when I was in NYC Times Square doing a job all I can say was what a guy! He will never be forgotten by me not only as an amazing tradesman but also as a great and funny guy on the jobsite. You will be greatly missed by the guys from Chicago. So very sorry to hear about Brett. I remember him hanging out with my brother during their college days. When the two of them were together, Brett's booming laugh was frequent and quite infectious. My condolences to his family and friends.
