Frank Lapo Obituary
Poughkeepsie - Frank Philip Lapo of Poughkeepsie passed away on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital. He was 60. Born at Vassar Hospital on April 22, 1955, he was the son of the late Richard Byrd Lapo and Elizabeth Mills Lapo. He grew up in Pleasant Valley, and was a 1973 graduate of Arlington Schools. A plumber by trade, Frank spent many years living and working in California. In 1988, he relocated back to the Hudson Valley. Frank was a great lover of nature and the outdoors.
He is survived by his long time companion, Gail Borney of Poughkeepsie, brother Richard and wife Debbie of Kinderhook, NY, sisters Margaret Dahl and husband Michael of Arlington VA, Beth Cittar and husband Rick of San Francisco CA, and Jenny Garrison and husband Rob of Staatsburg NY, along with many nieces and nephews. Also his Aunt Luella Powell of Boca Raton FL, and Uncle Edmund Mills and wife Doris of Edgewater FL. Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased by his sister Abby Garrison in 1988.
There will be no calling hours; there will be a private interment for family. Donations in Frank's name can be made to the American Heart Association, 301 Manchester Rd # 105, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603; or The Nature Conservancy, 6 Main St, New Paltz, NY 12561.
