Phyllis Imm Obituary
WAPPINGERS FALLS- Phyllis "Sue" Imm of Wappingers Falls entered into rest Monday, May 2, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. She was 68.
Daughter of the late W. Benjamin and Julia Stratton, she was born on March 22, 1943 in Monticello. She married the love of her life, Robert A. Imm on May 21, 1967 at St. John's Church in Monticello; Mr. Imm survives at home in Wappingers Falls.
Sue graduated from SUNY Delhi with a degree in stenography. She was a legal stenographer for over 40 years, working for Rosen, Crane and Wolfson for several years, and later for Mr. Rosen, among other places. She worked most recently for Wolfson, Greller, Egitto and Klein in Poughkeepsie, until her retirement last year. In her spare time, Sue enjoyed reading. She was also a longtime member of Zion Episcopal Church in Wappingers Falls, where she was part of their Altar Guild.
In addition to her husband, Bob, she is survived by her sons, Robert A. Imm, Jr. and his wife, Jackie Smith of Wappingers Falls, and Benjamin Imm of Wappingers Falls; brother, William Stratton, Jr. and his wife, Helen of San Diego, CA; sister, Cathy Churak of South Fallsburg; granddaughter, Julia; and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive their friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 6 at Zion Episcopal Church, 12 Saterlee Place in Wappingers Falls. Interment will follow in Wappingers Rural Cemetery, Wappingers Falls.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Sue's name to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Greater New York Chapter, 205 East 42nd St., Suite 1821, New York, NY 10017.
