Stratton, Barbara (King)

Barbara (King) Stratton was reunited with her family in Heaven on October 30, 2017. She was born in Binghamton on November 9, 1923 to proud parents, R. Ray & Jane King of Harpursville, NY. She attended Harpursville Central School, Ridley's Institute and Broome Community College. Barbara's professional career began at an early age by working at the R. Ray King General Store in Harpursville. She was employed by NBT (Afton, NY) for 11 years followed by 34 years at Link/Singer. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star (Afton Chapter), former member and past president of the Women's Relief Corp in Harpursville and was a member of several Senior Citizens Groups. She also played both the violin and piano expertly. She is survived by her daughter, Doreen Stratton & Donald Kirche; granddaughter, Christine Baker; great granddaughter, Sarah Dixon; dear friend, Marsha Barker and her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond E. Stratton. Barbara extended her thanks to all the staff at Hilltop, as well as the good friends that she made for making her stay so enjoyable. Per Barbara's wishes, there will be no calling hours. The funeral service will be private. Entombment will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. She lived a full and productive life and asked to use the following quote. "When tomorrow starts without me, try to understand, an angel came and called my name then took me by the hand...."
