Donald Sawyer Obituary
Donald D. Sawyer, 84, of Port Crane, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away after an extended illness. He was predeceased by his brothers, Richard and Thomas. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Virginia; sister, Lois Finch; daughters, Michele Sawyer, Barbara & James Saroka, Vicki Sawyer and Sandra Crane; grandchildren, Rachel, Ami and David Saroka, Joshua and Dylan Sawyer, Nicholas Crane; great granddaughter, Eliana; several nieces and nephews. Don proudly served in the US Air Force which led him to being stationed in CO and meeting the love of his life while roller skating. He retired from Singer Link after many years of service. He was a gentle, caring, compassionate man who will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 4-6 pm at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango Street, Port Dickinson, NY 13901. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider donations to the American Heart Association, donatenow.heart.org in Don's memory.
