Jean King Obituary
Conklin: Jean M. King, 63, of Conklin, died Saturday, July 6, 2013, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Harry and Frances Gardner on September 29, 1949. Jean graduated from Susquehanna Valley High School and later received her nursing degree. She was predeceased by an infant niece, Kyla Gardner; and her dear friend, Pam. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert M. King; and two sons, James and Jessica King, Ronald and Jennifer King; and three grandsons who were the light of her life, Hunter, Sethan, and Hayden. Jean is also survived by her brother, Tim Gardner and Maureen Mastronardi, along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many close friends. Anyone who ever had the pleasure of calling Jean a friend knows of all the hobbies she had: flower arrangements, knitting, crocheting, painting, and her most recent hobby, rug hooking, where she made many friends. Jean loved spending time with friends and family. The sparkle in her blue eyes was there until the end. She fought a long and courageous battle and never gave up hope. This strength has carried her into eternal rest. Thank you to Lourdes Hospice in helping Jean's family give her the care she needed at her home surrounded by all who loved her. Funeral services will be held at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Wednesday at 10 a.m. Rev. Msgr. James D. Kane will officiate. Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the McCormack Funeral Home Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Jean may be made to Lourdes Hospice Program, 4102 Old Vestal Rd., Vestal, NY 13850.

As I read about Jean's death tears start falling and sadness pours over me. Then just for a moment time stops and I recall the fun we had at UMA. Her warm smile and laughter always made a bad situation better. Every time I saw her she remained ageless. My sympathy to Bob and the boys and their families knowing the hole this wonderful women has left in all your hearts.

I am saddened by Jeannie's departure from our lives. I know that she brought much light and happiness to all of you and to everyone whose life she touched. She will be greatly missed.
