He was my 6th grade teacher--Harry L. Johnson in 1975. I tell everyone about "my 6th grade Social Studies teacher" when asked "what made you want to be a teacher?" I always had a great deal of respect for him.

Mr Peca was my all time favorite teacher. From 6th grade at Danial S Dickinson 1964. We had a mini class picnic get together with him around 2010 and I am glad that I had the opportunity to tell him so.
He introduced us to politics as it was his first time voting for presidential election. We took tours of the local cemetery. He was big on extemporaneous speaking teaching us to think for ourselves.

Hi, I am a great Great Niece, I found that my grandma is Jean Dacey(Peca) and is Paul’s sister and I have been trying to find ancestry for myself lately but this is all I could find out there. If anyone may have any information I can use or add on please please email me back almost there [email protected]
Great grand uncles I guess hmmm??? So after reading all of the post from former students I feel like I have missed out on meeting or knowing who he was and wish I had met him but I guess wasn’t to be but proud to read if his accomplishments and how many lives he touched, especially teachers fir 6th grade, I don’t even remember mine and that tells me how special he was to all of you that posted. I feel like I learned a little about him from your postings about him in the classroom. Thank you for that, I appreciate it so much.

I was a 6th grade student at Harry L Johnson way back in 1974. I showed up to visit him in 1985, after getting my BS in Elementary Ed. He was one of the reasons I became a teacher. I even got to talk to his class about what life was like when I was in his class! He was a fantastic teacher, and he took great care to TEACH his class what we need for life, not just what we needed to pass the class. It's 2020 and I have not forgotten him and I speak of him often, with fond memories.

I was a student of Mr. Peca (so was my 3 sisters & 2 brothers) and without a doubt, this Man was the 'Real Deal', was the BEST teacher I ever had, and after 38 years, I remember him for some lesson he taught me, or some kindness he displayed, or how he could lift your entire consciousness with his words of wisdom.

I feel blessed to have been his student, and in his after life may he know the deep appreciation and Love I have for him and the positive influence he has had upon me.

I wish I would have decided to google you long ago, i was wondering, and so now I know. May the after life be full of heavenly peace, may the force be with, and let it be know Mr. Peca is well remembered here on Earth.

Mrs Peca and the entire Peca family, I had Mr. Peca for fifth grade at Harry L. Johnson school, in the very early 1980's. He had a profound impact on all the students he taught; for me, he made History come to life. My prayers are with you all and I hope you are able to find some comfort knowing how much he was loved as a teacher and a person.

I also had Mr. Peca in 6th grade at Daniel S. Dickinson in Binghamton. He encouraged us to create our own inhouse newsletter - he was interested in what we were thinking, and what we had to say. Very inspiring. He told us we were the smartest class he ever had. We, of course, believed him (dare I say we still do, in itself another of his legacies - although you'll notice by the venue we were one of his first classes...). What a wonderful, meaningful life. Much too short, but all of us, his students, were blessed to have been taught by him. With sympathy to the family.

Mr. Peca was one of my favorite teachers. He made learning interesting and definitely pushed countless students to achieve more than they would have without him. I know I was a better student and a better person for having been in his class. Johnson City was a better school district because of him and we were better students for knowing him. My deepest sympathy and many prayers to your family.

I had Mr. Peca in 6th grade at Harry L. Elementary. He was one of the main reasons I went on to be a teacher, as well. I wanted to be "just like him" when I grew up. :) I went back to see him when they moved the 6th grade to C. Fred, and I'd been teaching a while. I told him and his class about how he'd influenced my life. He never knew, until that point in time, how much he'd really influenced me. I have spoken often of him, and have many fond memories of his teaching. I will miss him. My prayers to you and your family.

Paul was a great teacher. When I worked with him, he always thought of the kids first. I remember him making his own Social Studies booklets for the kids with the most important things for them to learn. He loved etnic foods and always wanted samples. He will be truly missed. Love and many memories from the Mark and Lillian Doolittle family.

Dear Ruth, Jean, Louis and families,
My sincere sympathies to all of you. Paul was a childhood/lifetime friend of my husband and they were classmates together at MTHS (1957).
Drs Ming and Zarkov are together once more.
He was a regular contributor to the Mahanoy City/Township websites and we will miss his wit and humor as well as his knowledge of what it was like to grow up in the area.
May God's blessings comfort you during this most difficult time.
