Alberta Hoyt Obituary

Hoyt, Alberta Marie

Binghamton: Alberta Marie Hoyt, age 79, from Binghamton passed on at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital on Thursday, February 17th due to complications from diabetes. She was born on January 10th, 1932 at her grandparent's home in Windsor, NY to parents Alice and Albert Beavan. She was a lifelong member of the Ouaquaga United Methodist Church and enjoyed supporting church events. Alberta felt she had led a full and rich life that included precious time and memories with her family, devoted companionship during her 52 years of marriage to Anson Hoyt (1926-2001), supportive friendships, gardens, flowers and laughter. She blessed our lives with a very giving nature, a sharp wit and showed immeasurable strength and resilience throughout the stages of her life. She was predeceased by infant son Terrence, daughter Audrey and brother Gary Beavan. Her loving family members will always keep her in their hearts: brother Robert Beavan, son Allan Hoyt and his wife Carolyn, daughter Alicia Williams and her husband Albert, son Adrian Hoyt and his wife Maria, son Anson Hoyt, Sr., and his wife Dawn, her grandchildren: Steve Hoyt and his wife Lisa, Scott Hoyt and his wife Adrienne, Tom Burkhardt and his wife Johanna, Lori Major and her husband Bob, David Burkhardt, Amy Fiori and her husband John, Dan Williams, Susan Williams, Nadine Jamison and her husband Steve, AJ Hoyt and his wife Celinda, Audrey Dupont and her husband Jake, Amber Batista and her husband Wilson, Anson Hoyt, Jr., Andrew Hoyt, her 22 great-grandchildren, and eight nieces and nephews. A special thanks to the staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton for supporting Alberta in her time of need.

Please join us in celebrating her life on Wednesday, February 23rd at the Ouaquaga United Methodist Church. Viewing starts at 10 am, with an honoring service at 11. In lieu of giving flowers, the family asks that you donate to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 N. Beauregard St. Alexandria, VA 22311 (1-800-342-2383) Psalm 73:26. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

Grandma, I know you are still smiling up in heaven with Grandpa! You are both missed so very much! I saw a robin the other day and thought of you, we always talked about birds and the weather. Thinking of you and sending my love, your granddaughter....Amy

Grandma,
How sad I am to lose you here on earth. But yet so happy that you are in a better place in heaven with Grandpa now by your side. You taught me so much growing up, and I couldn’t thank you enough. You introduced me to the love of plants and birds and flowers. You taught me to smile. You were such a big influence in my life. I owe so much to you. I will forever cherish the memories that we share. You meant so much not only to me but also to Lisa, Meagan, Erin, and Colt. They too will miss you dearly. It was a privilege to be your grandson and I hope you are proud.
When I was young, you would take me to church here in Ouaquaga. Later on I was married in that same church. Now today I will be with you for your final visit. While there will be many tears shed on this day, there will also be a forever smile in our hearts. As you will not be forgotten, but only remembered, every day of our lives.
Thanks for giving me that last smile and kissing my hand. It gave me such peace. Please tell Grandpa that I miss him so much. I love you both.

My Dear MOM, XO

I LOVE YOU SOOOO MUCH & I MISS YOU SOOOO MUCH!!

Thank you for being such a wonderful mom and grandma, raising your children to be responsible, teaching us about the importance of family and to be connected to nature. Learning about birds, trees, animals and flowers is a big part of my life that I learned from you, and I enjoy passing that on to my children and grandchildren.

I will always remember all of the fun, good times we had together on trips, camping, visiting people, and how smart you were when watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, and other shows or times when knowledge was part of the game. You knew so many answers!

You took such good care of us our entire lives, and we were glad to be able to help take care of you in your struggle to survive last week. We wanted so badly for you to pull through and still be with us now. You were soo strong and brave!

There were so many family members there with you every day to help you, and I'm glad that you knew we were there and talked and laughed with us. Their support helped each one of us, too.

I LOVE YOU DEARLY & MISS YOU VERY MUCH!!

LOVE, Your Daughter, Alicia XO

My Dear Mom, XO

I LOVE YOU SOOOOO MUCH & I MISS YOU SO DEARLY. There will never be enough ways to THANK YOU for raising us children so well, and for teaching us the important responsibilities of life. Your love of nature certainly was instilled in us, and I enjoy instilling that in my children and grandchildren. You were always there for us for whatever we needed, and we were glad to be able to be there for you when you needed us in your battle to survive last week. Because of your example of love, you were surrounded by so many family members who all helped by being with you, and by supporting one another with the love and comfort that we needed. I LOVE YOU SOOO MUCH MOM XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

Dearest Al, Alicia, Amy, Danny, and Sue,
We join you in mourning the loss of your mother and grandmother, but remember the joys that she brought to our lives. We also rejoice that she is now set free of her Earthly bonds and tribulations and is together with Jesus. Although we cannot be with you at this time, you are in our thoughts and prayers always. We love you all!

To the only person in the world I called "Mom" besides my own mother. I heard horror stories about "mother-in-laws", but you certainly didn't fit that category. You were my "go-to" person whenever I needed help with canning, or wanted to know what kind of bird that was or what kind of flower was that. You always had the answer for me even after we weren't officially family anymore. You and your family always treated me like family and I will always treasure that.
To Allan, Alicia, Adrian and Anson...I am so sorry for your loss. What a special woman you had for a mother. Thank you for sharing her with me all those years.
To all Albertas grandchildren...always cherish those special memories. That's one thing that can never be taken away from you. I love you all.
To my girls...I love you more than anything and I am here for you. God Bless.
