Nancy Sisco Obituary

Sisco, Nancy Wood

We celebrate our loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend as she joins her Heavenly Father and waiting loved ones. Nancy Wood Sisco returned home on Monday, September 24th, 2012, into the loving arms of her husband, Gene; infant daughter, Kristen; parents, Harry and Elsie Gecox; and sisters, Sandra Williams and Elaine Gecox. Nancy will be greatly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Kelley and Jim Kerwick, Johnson City, NY; son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Ronne Sisco, Endwell, NY; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Mary Lou Gecox, Toms River, NJ; her five loving grandchildren, Evan and Amanda Kerwick and Kellan, Ramsey and Davy Sisco; several nieces and nephews as well as dear longtime friends. Born in Minneapolis, MN, Nancy grew up in Yonkers, NY and, upon her high school graduation, ventured into the Manhattan workforce. There she met and married her husband Gene in 1961. In 1968, Endwell, NY became their new home where she embraced her role as a mother. Nancy's dedication to her family was always reflected in her patience and humor but, most importantly, by her faithful support during NY Giants and Ranger games! She took great interest in political news and a cup of coffee made the perfect addition when sharing views. In cooking and gardening Nancy excelled as she did in her later role as Manager of the Montgomery Ward Jewelry Department. We invite your fellowship on Saturday, September 29th, at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E. Main Street, Endicott between 1-3 p.m. A memorial service will immediately follow at the funeral home at 3 p.m. New Life Ministries Pastor Pam Washburn will officiate. Entombment will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park.

Kelly, Jim, Mandy and Evan - Geez...my heart and tears and all the words that I want to say but "none will be enough", go out to all of you. Kelly: I never met your Mommy but when I saw her picture-how beautiful-and I thought "my gosh, you look just like your Mom"! At the end of our life, how blessed your Mom had you and your family. You were there when she needed you. May that thought carry you in the days to come with the strength and wisdom to carry on without her as your life unfolds for you and your family. It will - just give it time - I promise.
