Wilma Sheret Obituary

Sheret, Wilma G.

Tunkhannock, PA: Wilma G. Sheret, 92, formerly of Vestal, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at the United Methodist Home, Tunkhannock, PA, after months of declining health. Born April 2, 1921 in Blessing, TX, Wilma was the youngest of Jesse R. and Pearlee Leazar Gray's six children, all of whom preceded her in death. On March 12, 1943 Wilma married Bernard J. Sheret, Sr. After WWII they lived in Meshoppen, PA before relocating to Vestal, where they resided for 50 years. Bernard predeceased her in 2002. Wilma was a realtor in the Binghamton area for 40 years and was awarded the title of Realtor Emeritus by the Broome County Board of Realtors. She was proud to have served the real estate needs of multiple generations of local families. She is survived by son, Bernard (Rhoda) Sheret, Jr.; daughters, Cynthia (Emanuel) Carter and Sylvia Sheret (Jeffrey) Newman; grandchildren, Lori (Randy) Swartz, James Sheret, Heather and Jennifer Carrington, Alexander, Harriet and Jacob Newman; great-grandchildren, Capt. Jessica Zembek and fiancé Lt. Brian Kuhn, Randall and Jeremy Sheret, Corey and Nicholas Swartz; and dear family friends, Richard and Debbie Matsushima. The family would like to thank the administration and staff of the United Methodist Home in Tunkhannock for their devoted and loving care of Wilma, especially in her final days. They would also like to thank Commonwealth Hospice for providing support to Wilma, her family and the staff at Tunkhannock Manor allowing Wilma to die peacefully, and with dignity, at home. Private interment will take place at Mt. Albion Cemetery, Albion, NY, at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to the United Methodist Home, Tunkhannock Manor, 50 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657 in Wilma's memory.
