Hazel Penfield Obituary
Binghamton: Hazel Brena (Miller) Penfield, of Binghamton, 78, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Saturday July 2, 2011, at home surrounded by her family. Hazel was predeceased by her husband John (Jack) C. Penfield. She is survived by her two daughters, Gail E. Bielefeldt and husband Thomas; Holly R. Lurenz and husband Michael; her two sons, Dwight C. Penfield II and wife Sharon; and John C. Penfield and wife Grace; her granddaughters, Rachel and Tamara Bielefeldt; Hannah and Sarah Penfield; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Miller and Marilyn Penfield; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. Hazel loved the Lord and was a member of Central Baptist Church, Binghamton. She was a wonderful, loving, and devoted mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St. Port Dickinson, NY. Officiating the service will be Bill Miller. Burial will follow in the Kattelville Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 from 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM. Those wishing kindly consider memorial contributions in Hazel's name to either; Central Baptist Christian Academy, 1606 NY State Route 12, Binghamton, NY 13901 or the Shriner's Hospital for Children, 3551 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA. 19140-4131. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Anne, Lorraine, and Tammy for their devoted care and friendship toward our mom.

We are so sorry to hear of your Mom's passing... you were such a comfort to us during our Mom's stay at the hospital, and we knew how much your Mom meant to you through our many heartfelt conversations. May peace and comfort find you at this time and in the months to come. Words cannot express how much you helped us face what we needed to face, and we thank you for that.
