Edward Scalzo Obituary
Endwell: Edward R. Scalzo, Sr., 81, of Endwell, died at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Tuesday, October 16, 2012. He was predeceased by his parents, Natale and Nancy and brothers, Frank, Angelo, Dominick and Joseph. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; a daughter, Bonnie Burke and her fiancé Paul Knapik, Endicott; three sons and daughters-in-law, Edward, Jr. and Gail, Newport, NC, Gary and Leslie, Binghamton and Terry and Kerry, Norwood, MA; his grandchildren, Brian, Robbie, Kelly, Geena, Bennett and Andrianna; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a member of Church of the Holy Family, Endwell, and a retired electrician with IBW Local 325. Ed was a volunteer at Our Lady of Lourdes Laser Eye Clinic and was a member of the Continental Fyffe and Drum Corps during his high school years. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of 3 Ross and ICU at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for all their kind and compassionate care shown to Ed and his family during his stay there. Funeral Services will be held Friday 9:30 a.m. from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, followed by a Funeral Mass at Church of the Holy Family at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, Thursday from 4-7 p.m.

Dot Jerry & I are so sorry to hear of Ed's passing. We have such fond memories of our times @ the Endicott Elks. Ed gave so much of his time & talents back in those days. He was a great guy who will be missed. Our thoughts & prayers are with you and your family.

To the Scalzo family, Our deepest sympathy in the passing of Mr. Scalzo. I only talked with him briefly in passing or waved to him as neighbors do. He took such pride in his home. We often caught up with one another and he loved to give me his take on issues and politics.We never failed to mention our trip to Yankee Stadium with my Dad finally returning to New York after World War II and watching a ball game at yankee Stadium in the 8o's.He often spoke of that all the time.You were a good man Ed and you did your Family proud.God Bless you.

Dot & family -- our deepest consoldences on the passing of Bob. He was a man with a big heart and a keen wit. The world is a little darker today without this ray of sunshine.
