Robert Guilfoyle Obituary
Robert Thomas Guilfoyle, 78, of Endicott, died at Ideal Senior Living Center on January 1, 2014 after a long illness. He is predeceased by his parents, Ward Francis Guilfoyle and Catherine Mary Reardon Guilfoyle; sister-in-law, Bonnie Guilfoyle; two brothers-in-law, James Gibbs and Bobby Brown. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Catherine Brown Guilfoyle; daughters, Kathleen (Kevin) Wood of Vestal, and Kelli (Joseph) Quigley of Binghamton; son, Robert W. (Nicki) Guilfoyle of Binghamton; grandchildren, Margaret Wood, Mary Kathryn Quigley, Ryan Guilfoyle, and Kaylea Guilfoyle; sister, Mary Anne Gibbs; brothers, Jack (Maude) Guilfoyle and David Guilfoyle; sister-in-law, Pat Brown; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and a retired payroll specialist of Broome-Tioga BOCES. He served in the United States Navy as a radar man. He was a longtime member of the Lions Club of Endicott, was a longtime member and past Commander of American Legion Post 1700 and was a member of the VFW. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 701 West Main Street, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, on Sunday from 1-3 PM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Bob's memory may be made to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church.

I am sorry for your loss. My mother, Cindy Delaney, worked with Mr. Guilfoyle for many years at BOCES. He was a kind and sweet man. Many condolences and prayers go out to his friends and family.

I knew Mr. Guilfoyle being he was my Father Jim Benson's good friend. Bob visited and drank wine with my Dad through the years. The ended up being Ideal Senior Living residents together in which the continued their visits only without the wine and cigars. They meet again in Heaven as my Father Jim passed just this past Saturday. My sincere condolences goes out to the entire Guilfoyle family. He was a good man and will be greatly missed.

Mary & All the Gulfoyles, My condolences on the death of Bobby, husband, father, grandfather and all-around good guy who was one of the best and biggest supporters of U-E sports and other programs. My contacts with and you guys were not frequent and everyone was a jewel. He had a terrific sense of humor. He had strong beliefs. He was also a person who once he got to know you he would stick by you through thick and thin. He held certain things dear and sacred; his family, his religion or church, his country, his home town, and his beloved U-E.
I have missed him since my being in FL. I will miss more deeply now that he has taken his place in heaven But I will say "Hi" everyday when I say my prayers.
May God give you all the graces you need as you make this journey through this sorrowful valley. May you all enjoy his presence in Heaven where he takes his rightful place among the Saints and scholars who are there.
