Jeffrey Dugon Obituary

Dugon, Jeffrey Hartwig Conrad

6/9/86 - 8/5/14 Far too young and so full of life it is hard to believe he could be taken from us. Perhaps his purpose in life was to affect the lives of others and to make us all value each precious moment we have together even more. Larger than life, forever with a smile and a ray of light in any room he entered are the words we have been hearing and already knew. Our dear Jeffrey of Windsor, NY leaves his father, Thomas Dugon and his partner Aly Roberts of Deposit; his "ma", Alexis Pleus and her partner Mitchell Sosnicki of Windsor. Jeffrey always said brothers are the most important people in life and his brothers: Thomas Dugon, III (31), Jason Dugon (21) and Jonathon Dugon (18) will love and miss him forever. Jeff was always the glue. He is survived also by his dear maternal grandmother, Sherry Pleus, maternal great-grandmother, Shirley Geiwald and paternal grandmother, Marilyn Dugon. He leaves behind his paternal family, the Korkes, many aunts, uncles, cousins, his closest friend Chasen Brown and so many dear friends that we could fill this page if we attempted to list. If you knew Jeff, you knew, he could always make you laugh, he loved his family, he had an enormous heart, he was emotional and sentimental, he was an artist, a writer, he was talented beyond words when it came to preparing food, there was not a task or new experience he would not take on with enthusiasm and vigor, a wrestler and football player who rallied his teams in high school and college, he was adventurous, outgoing, he loved to tease people, he loved kids, the outdoors and traveling, he truly tried to make the best of everything and was about as charismatic as a person could be. We are hearing from complete strangers how Jeff had helped them through times of trouble and on their paths to overcoming addiction and we are so grateful knowing his caring nature extended further than we even realized. In 2013 Jeff took comfort in and gained strength from having Jesus as his savior and we know he is now in heaven orchestrating fantastic feasts and spending time with his infant son who passed before him. Our chef, our son, our brother, our grandson, our story teller, our friend, our lover of life, we will miss you forever. The family will receive visitors at the West Windsor Baptist Church at 166 North Road in West Windsor from 6-8pm on Saturday August 9, 2014 and again on Sunday August 10, 2014 from 2-3pm. A service to remember Jeff will occur at 3pm at the same location. Following the service, all are welcome to attend a celebration of Jeffrey's life at the home he grew up in at 2005 Rte. 79, Windsor, NY where a picnic will be offered, ashes will be scattered, a remembrance box will be buried and a tree will be planted all in his honor. Flowers, food or donations made in his honor are all acceptable means to express your sorrow or to offer comfort, though nothing more than your love is required.

To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Dear Jeff, The old saying time marches on runs so true, it is hard to believe it has been 5 years since you left us.

As you look down I know you are so proud of your mom and the family. She is one amazing strong woman and I am honored to call her my friend. The lives she has impacted and will continue to impact is astounding.

My last memory of you was talking about food and cooking. I hope you are trying new recipes all the time.

Much love,
Priscilla Ksionzyk

My memories of Jeff are one of loving being in the kitchen providing food for people. Other's have commented on his sense of humor and warmth, but I will also always remember his "old soul" eyes. I felt like he was watching this world through the lenses of an old soul. I will continue to pray for your sweet boys and you.

Jeff,
I didn't know you, wish I had. You sound so much like my son, he's a chef too, loves food! I met your Mom, love her, so warm and beautiful, but you knew that! Unfortunately, we met through awful circumstances, we've both lost a child. I lost my daughter Nicole, your Mom lost you. Today is going to be a tough day for your Mom, but then I realize, every day is a tough day. I hope you bring your Mom some comfort today, in some way, she can feel you are still with her. Say hello to my Nicole.

Many people think of this tragity and great loss to be a bad thing, but in turn I think god needed him, but because of that we've gained another dear soul, no an angel, to keep watch over and look after the rest of us that need guidance in our life. So my brother I thank you, and miss you dearly, we've had some epic moments in life. Can't wait to see you on the other side. Fly high and rest easy until the day we all meet again. R.i.p Jeff

Jeff my brother. Maybe not in the literal sense but as your fellow fraternity brother it pains your second family to have such a loss. Those of us lucky enough to attend college with you, and have you as part of the memories that we will hold on to forever, we truly are lucky. Rest easy big man. Until we can see each other again help shine a little light on your friends and family. Gone but not forgotten. Psi Delta Omega forever my fellow Raider.

Though Jeff has passed sooner than any of us could have ever wanted, and words will never pay proper tribute to his life, memories of him still bring a ready smile to my face.

To his family, I am sorry for your loss, but thankful for the gift of your son and his friendship. Peace and strength to you all, and may his memory warm your hearts in the days to come. I wish you all the kindness in the world as you grieve for a great man, who was greatly loved by many.

Sincerely yours,

We became good friends and thankfully I had the chance to run into him this last February. As usual, Jeff had a smile on his face, a smile I will forever remember. Jeff had many special gifts, his love of cooking and the ability to smile and bring laughter to everyone around him will be what I remember when I think of him. Taken too soon, rest in peace dear friend.
