Judy and Sarah,
I did not know George well but I always felt fortunate when we had a chance to talk at various peace events. I remember listening to him read part of the Human Rights Declaration one evening with quiet strength and conviction. He added many positive things to the world, we will all miss him.

I am deeply saddened that one of the finest people I have known is gone from this world. George knew suffering--as a father, as a professional healer, and as an activist. His very life was sort of an alchemical miracle of transforming hurt into humble, compassionate service. Judy and Sarah, how I wish I could be there to hug and cry with you. May you know God's embrace even as George now knows Love in its fullness.--Ken

George exemplified how a Christian not only speaks the gospel, but walks the gospel. He lived not only a life of compassionate care, but one of social justice in action.
George's spirit lives on in each one of us who had the honor of knowing him and the convictions he sought to become reality in our world that often is callous and cold to those oppressed.
He wanted a better world for those afflicted in poverty, those caught in war, those mentally challenged, and those who lacked opportunities.
We should all strive to be such persons to others and find those places in our world, that we each can improve on by showing compassionate care, along with social action.
I am confident George heard the words "Welcome Home, my faithful servant" by the arms of the one he envisioned in a lifetime of service in giving of himself to others.

When I met George and Judy at a drone action in Syracuse a few years ago, it immediately felt as if I had known them all of my life. We have crossed paths with so many of the same people. What a privilege to know you both. Rest in power, dear George.

Judy and Sarah,
How do I write about George? He was one of a kind: faithful, brave, humble, humorous, good hearted. My love is with you as you find your ways forward without him in this life. May you be comforted by all of the laughter and love that you shared with him.

George was so loving and giving, and so goofy and fun-loving - He enlivened any gathering!! His steadiness, courage, commitment, and sense of what's important was like compassion in four-wheel drive!! He was a powerhouse of love. How we'll miss him! but will find him in our most loving impulses and most irreverent wise-cracking! George Homanich Presente!!

May God bless you both Judy & Sarah. George was from Endicott and we all knew each other. Our children went to school together. And Judy, you became a wonderful mother and friend. Dallas DeFee (my daughter and a friend to Sarah) wish you both love and comfort from our Lord.

I had the privilege to work with George many years ago at Catholic Charities. When they say, "He was good man", George was the type of person they had in mind. And that's no small compliment. George was truly a good man and the community is surely hurt by his passing. I am deeply saddened by the news of his death and I hope his family and friends find comfort and grace in this time of mourning. Rest in peace, George. You made the world a better place.

George was a singularly unique guy - a mix of fierce commitment, unassuming humility, gentle compassion, and deep love. His presence in the Witness Against Torture community was deeply cherished, and his absence will be hard to accept.
Sending love to Judy and all the family.
