Camille M. Roach
of EndicottCamille M. Roach, 82, of Endicott, died at his residence Wednesday, February 9, 2005. He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Anna; a sister, Margaret; and a brother, Paul. He is survived by his beloved wife, Angie; two daughters, Maureen A. Roach-Buffman, Las Vegas, Nev., and Ann M. Roach, Endicott; three sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony Roach and fiancee, Cathy Garey, Paul and Michele, all of Endicott, and Fran and Rania of Egypt; his grandchildren, Fallon, Francis Camille, Kristina, Kelsey, Elise and Heidi; two great-grandsons, Audrick and Lucian; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Francis Lopata, Charlotte, N.C., and Adelene and John Konik, Gloversville, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, and brother-in-law, Rose and Ray Munnings, Ft. Myers, Fla.; also several nieces, nephews and cousins, including special nieces, Marguerite Roach-Jackson and husband, Don, and Maryann Ciotoli. He was a member of St. Ambrose Church, Endicott, a veteran of WW II, serving in the US Army Air Corps as a radio operator and waist gunner in a B24, B29 and B32 in the Pacific Theater, where he received many medals and commendations. Camille started his law career as a law clerk for D'Adamo & Rizzuto from 1952-1954, a law clerk and research council with Senator Warren Anderson from 1953-1958, Assistant District Attorney from 1958-1963, elected Village of Endicott Judge from 1963-1989, was in private practice from 1953-2005 and was the Village of Endicott Attorney from 2000-2003. He was a graduate of Union-Endicott High School, class of '39, Triple Cities College of Syracuse University Law School in 1952. He was a member of the American Legion Post 82, Endicott, where he also served as their attorney, the Maj. Ray H. Humphrey, D.S.C., VFW Post 1449, Endicott, B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #1977, Endicott, Knights of Columbus #1889 and a member of their 4 Degree Council, served on the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Western Broome for 20 years, was an avid golfer, and a lover of classical music.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, 9:30 a.m. at St. Ambrose Church, Washington Avenue, Endicott. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main St., Endicott, Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. and evening 6 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Western Broome, 1 Clubhouse Road, Endicott, N.Y. 13760.
