David Weyl Obituary

Popular member of a pioneer Sonoma Family, passed away unexpectedly at home in Sonoma on Saturday, March 26, 2011. A native and lifetime resident of Sonoma, he was 60 years of age. David was born in the old Sonoma Valley Hospital to Katherine and (the late) George Weyl, grew up in Sonoma, and attended local schools along with his sister. He retired from Safeway after 35 years of dedicated service. David was a lifelong member of the NRA, a member of the Valley of the Moon Gun Club. David is survived by his loving daughter, Sasha Weyl, of Sacramento; his loving son, Chris Weyl, of Sonoma; his sister, Karen (and her husband, Jack) Vargas, of Mt. Shasta; his former wife Leslie Richardson, of Roseville; his nephew Daniel (and his wife, Robin, and their child, Isabella) Lorenzini, of Sonoma; his niece, Stephanie (and her daughters, Rhiannon, Sydney and Madison) Lorenzini. He is also survived by: his two faithful canine companions, Maya and Sprigg, whom he loved very much; a large extended family; and the countless friends he made throughout his lifetime. Friends are invited to attend a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at DUGGAN'S MISSION CHAPEL, 525 West Napa Street, Sonoma, CA 95476 with the Reverend Richard Gantenbein officiating. Interment immediately following the funeral at the St. Francis Solano Cemetery, 505 East Napa Street, Sonoma, CA 95476. Memorial donations in David's honor may be made to the Valley of the Moon Gun Club, P.O. Box 881, Sonoma, CA 95476.
