Edward Noha Obituary

NOHA, Edward Robert Passed away on April 27, 2004. Devoted husband of Patricia Noha of Petaluma. Loving father of Bob Noha of Rio Vista, CA and Caroline Noha of Citrus Heights, CA. Cherished grandfather of Emily Koster and David Noha. Beloved brother of Margaret Schwerin. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Lieutenant Colonel Noha received his commission on June 3, 1941. He served on active duty with the United States Army during the period of August 20, 1941 to December 17, 1947. During the period of December 18, 1947 to April 13, 1951 he was in inactive status as a Commissioned Reservist. He re-entered active commissioned status on April 14, 1951 and served continuously on extended active duty til the date of his retirement. In addition to stateside duty he also served remote tours in the Canal Zone and the South Pacific during World War II with the 11th Air-borne Division and in Italy from October 9, 1951 until September 2, 1954. He performed duty with the Auditor Gen-eral Organization since September 12, 1954 with final duty assignment as the Resident Auditor at Patrick Air Force Base in Florida. After his retirement from the Air Force he was employed by the Department of Defense as an Auditor from 1969 until 1985. Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Friday, April 30, 2004 at 4:00 p.m. at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, Magnolia and Keokuk St., Petaluma, CA. Visitation will be held at the mortuary on the same day from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Mr. Noha will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors. The family prefers Memorial contributions be made to the Petaluma Senior Center, 211 Novak Drive, Petaluma, CA 94954.
