Eleanor G. Pomi

Passed away at home in Petaluma, CA, September 22, 2010, wife of the late Allie Pomi. Loving mother of Joyce (Don) Gilardi of Petaluma. Cherished grandmother of Sally Carstensen of Petaluma, Cindy Tuck of Penngrove, Joseph Hartman and Donald L. Gilardi both of Petaluma. Dear great grandmother of Kelli and Lee Carstensen, Tyler, Emily, Alex and Courtney Tuck, Morgan and Jack Hartman, Madisen and Austin Gilardi. Beloved sister of Julia Jensen and Walter Bettinelli both of Petaluma and was preceded in death by her siblings, Alma Moretti, Paul, Genevieve, Alfred, Edwin, Lawrence, Alvin, Olympio, Everest, Lester Bettinelli, Carrie Moreda, Evelyn Pomi, Irene Peters and Josephine Mazza Langie. Special thanks to "Granny's Angel", her caregiver Mela. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A native of Petaluma, CA. Age 93 years. Eleanor, a member of the pioneer Bettinelli family, was the superintendant of the Union School District for over 30 years, and later worked as a clerk for Antler's Pharmacy and later Bill's Drug Store in Petaluma. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Eleanor's life on Friday, September 24, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the home of Joyce and Don Gilardi. Private committal services for the family will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Petaluma. The family prefer memorials be made to Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St., Petaluma, CA 94952.
