John S. Cardoza Jr.

Born on June 30, 1916 in Danville, CA; passed away on November 19, 2010 in Petaluma. Devoted husband of the late Mary Lopes Cardoza. Cherished father of Ed Cardoza (Cathy) of Petaluma. Loving step-father of William Teixeira (Joan) of Petaluma and Robert Teixeira (Nancy) of Carson City. Beloved grandfather of Lisa Yerion (Bob), Gina Marino (Jim), Heather Press, William Teixeira III, Cassie Teixeira, Lisa Teixeira, and Robert Teixeira. Adored great-grandfather of eight. Dear brother of the late Mary Borba and George Cardoza. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his former wife, Beatrice Cardoza. AGE: 94 years. A member of: IDESI of Novato (Past President); Petaluma, Sebastopol, Vallejo, Benicia, and Ft. Bragg Holy Ghost Societies; Sausalito IDESST; lifelong member of the PFSA; past member of NSGW Nicasio Parlor #183; Hicks Valley Gun Club; and St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. John was a hay rancher in Petaluma for 60 years and plowed many fields in Sonoma County. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, but above all, he loved his family. The family wishes to extend a thank you to Vuta, John's caregiver, for her wonderful care of John. Friends and family are invited to attend the Graveside Service on Monday, November 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Memorial Park, 270 Los Ranchitos Rd., San Rafael, CA. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 28, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 4:00 PM at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St. Petaluma.
