Dear Eric,
I remember when we were little, our hampsters would always get loose and you would always blame it on me. Or when I got mad at you, I accidentally threw your ninja turtle at the back of your head. I remember purposely eating peanut butter around you because I knew you were allergic to it & how my mom would always make you watch barney with me in the morning before school. 18 years of your face was not enough for me. You told everyone I was your little sister, and I know you're my older brother at heart. Try not and cause too much of a scene up there, because I'll get jealous. I miss you, and I love you and I better be seeing you.

Dear Family and Friends of Eric,
My name is Oliver Schulz. I knew Eric briefly as I am the one who bought his former motorcycle, the blue&white Yamaha.
I just now, and by pure coincidence, learned about Eric's passing the the Press Democrat report of his accident. I am in shock and disbelieve. Though only very briefly, I knew Eric as a very very friendly, open-minded, interested and kind guy who helped me greatly with the purchase of the bike.
My deepest and most sincere condolences.

i didn't know Eric, but his story touched me. i was on the freeway where it happen, i felt so horrible and just wanted to reach out to the family. he is in a better place and i am sure he is surrounded by so many loved ones

I was Eric's Spanish 3 teacher last Spring. So sorry to read of his passing. What a precious young man he was. Sweet and cheerful and kind and enthusiastic. I loved having him as a student. My heart and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Eric, you will be missed by everyone. Your smile and laugh were contagious, and your heart as big as the sun. I still dont know why this accident happened to you but I loved all of our time spent together and will miss you greatly. You will never be forgotten. I didn't know of Eric or his family until I saw the people stop on the highway to help. I'm devastated that the world lost a young man who seemed to capture the heart of all who knew him. As a parent I grieve with your family and pray for peace in their hearts.

My sympathies to the family of Eric. I was so sorry to hear of his passing when his name was mentioned in church this morning. He was one of the thousand plus students I've known as along-time instructor at SRJC and I loved his smile and eagerness. He remains a bright memory in my mind.

I have always been impressed by Eric. I remember visiting when he was about 12 and he gave me a philosophical lesson on the various levels of meaning of Spongebob Squarepants. I got such a kick out of the way he could talk with an adult on adult level about 12 year old subjects. He was truly an amazing young man. Evelyn Fassett

I was a teacher of Eric's. He was a caring, insightful young man with a lot of enthusiasm for life. We talked academics and motorcycles and he never tired of the topics. He embodied many of the qualities we try to instill in our students. I am deeply saddened by his passing. I am also very fortunate to have had a student like Eric. He will always be in my heart.My heart goes out to Eric's family.

During the short time Eric attended CSU Monterey Bay, he became a close friend of mine. He lived his life without fear, and lived up every moment. His family is in my prayers and thoughts every day. But one thing to remember is that he really lived his life to the fullest and took every chance he could to get the most from his experiences in the short time he was here. Now, with no other option, it's time to celebrate who he was and how he will live on in our hearts for the rest of our lives.

I met Eric when he was about 4 or 5 years old. He and his Mother Diana were members at the Airport Health Club. I can see that same sweet preicous smile on his face now as I did back then. My own son had a class with Eric at the JC. As a parent, I grieve with you and for you all at this time. You have my heart felt condolences. I'm so very sorry for your loss.....
