Flora Teijeiro Obituary
Passed away in Windsor, on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at the age of 92. A lifelong resident of San Francisco and resident of Windsor since 2002. Beloved wife of 40 years of the late Manuel Teijeiro; loving mother of Dolores Palter (Adrian) and Robert Teijeiro (Michael Stoppelwerth); adored grandmother of Marty, Denise, Annette, Steven, Brian, Becky and Kristin; great grandmother of eighteen and great great grandmother of two. Flora was born in a tiny border town in Mexico. When she was one, her mother and her two year old brother came to San Francisco to start a new life with close relatives. She enjoyed a simple childhood in the Bay View neighborhood with her three brothers and attended Girls High School. In her senior year she met the love of her life Manuel, they married shortly after and immediately started a family. Flora and Manuel enjoyed a lifetime of love and passion until his death in 1976. While taking care of her family was her ultimate joy and accomplishment, she had many other talents. Flora was blessed with a lovely singing voice that could have been on stage, instead she found a rewarding and creative outlet for her talent by singing in her beloved St. John the Evangelist in San Francisco. Flora loved her city with all her heart and enjoyed Golden Gate Park, Ocean Beach, Zoo and the culturally diverse Mission District and many other San Francisco landmarks. She was very patriotic and proudly studied for the citizenship test, and celebrated with family and friends after taking her oath. She was an avid and lifelong fan of the 49er and SF Giants, enjoying the recent World Series Championship. The family would like to thank the Heartland Hospice Team, especially Sandy and Lucille, and Chona her personal nursing who all cared for her with such kindness and compassion. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, November 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 8400 Old Redwood Hwy, Windsor, interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Ave, Santa Rosa.
