FUNERAL HOME

Joyce Mohar Obituary

Passed away peacefully in her home of 51 years in Santa Rosa, CA on December 22. Born in Illinois on April 3, 1931 to Wilson and Hoyt Millard, the family moved to Petaluma, CA where she met the love of her life Stanley "Moe" Mohar. They married in 1950 and had three boys: John (Sandy), Rick, and Brad (Kristi). Joy loved being a mom. She would send the boys off to school, work at the families grocery store during the day, Fiesta Market, and was always home before her boys. She was a "Leave it to Beaver" mom. The family loved spending summers at Lake Berryessa, where Joy would drive the boat for the boys and niece Janet Kreyer, even though she could not swim. After retirement, Joy and Moe traveled the country and Canada in their RV and took the whole family to Mexico to celebrate their 50th year of marriage. She was a devoted mother, loving wife and all around amazing hostess. Especially loved Christmas Eve parties at their home, and was able to spend this Christmas with Moe, who passed away February 2008. Also survived by brothers Bob, Bill and Rick Millard. Grandmother to Erica, Dustin and Ally. Loving sister-in-law to Mary Ann Silviera and many other nieces, nephews and family members. By Joy's request no service will be held, rather a private family memorial. Donations made to the Shriners Hospital for Children. Arrangement by Daniels Chapel of the Roses.
