Marlene Strehl Obituary

Passed away peacefully on October 31, 2010, at her home in Santa Rosa, with her son Jody at her side, at the age of 77. She is also survived by her adoring grandson William Joseph Strehl. She was predeceased by her daughter Shawn Strehl. Marlene worked for 35 years at Sonoma State College as an administrator in the Expressive Arts Department and the Physical Education Department. Her son Jody reflects on how his mom was a classy lady, who was very thoughtful and loving to all who knew her. She loved life and enjoyed entertaining all her friends for parties and holidays. Her hobbies included working and tending her flower garden faithfully. She was very independent and loved to travel with her huge circle of friends. She will be truly missed. Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Her Life on Friday, November 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Daniels Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Ave., Santa Rosa, CA. We could not have asked for a more lovely and gracious neighbor than Marlene. She was always happy to see daughter Annabel, from age 3 to 12, now, and often provided treats. We particularly remember her wonderful 70th birthday party, filled with friends and laughter, and all of the beautiful plants and flowers gracing her home. With love, Annabel, Anne, Sandra Cowden/Howarth
