FUNERAL HOME

Vicki Willis Obituary

Passed away peacefully at her home in Santa Rosa with family at her side on Sunday, November 7, 2010. Vicki fought a valiant battle with cancer for nine years. She was born in Bedford, England on August 29, 1952 to Virginia and Lee Owens. Vicki was the youngest of four children. She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Will; son Justen (Jennifer); two grandsons Zachary and Noah; two stepsons Todd (Michelle) and Will, two stepdaughters Cindy and Cheri; nephew Jared; mother Virginia Owens and the late Lee Owens; sister Karen Waller and the late Bob Waller, brothers Dennis and the late Gary Owens; nephew Mark (Robin) and grandniece Alyssa. Vicki began her career for the County of Sonoma Probation Department at Los Guilicos Juvenile Hall and later was promoted to supervisor at the Valley of the Moon Children's Home for 28 years of dedicated service. Her passions in life were spending time with grandkids, family, shopping, her cats and culinary arts. As many can attest, she made the best soups. It was always her desire to help those less fortunate and to provide positive encouragement to everyone. Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the DANIELS CHAPEL OF THE ROSES, 1225 Sonoma Avenue, Santa Rosa. The family would like to thank Memorial Hospice for their wonderful care and support and would request donations in Vicki's memory be made to Memorial Hospice, 821 Mendocino Avenue, Santa Rosa, CA 95401. Dearest Willis Family and Vicki,

Words on guest book entry can't begin to contain all that I want to say or all that I feel for you and the family. Just know that no matter how much time passes between visits, no matter how much time and space is between, I always smile and truly rejoice in the special connections we have cultivated over the years. Vicki--such a beautiful person and lively spirit. You will be missed. Love to Wil and all the family, from Dawne Streutker

Vicki and I worked together at Juvenile Hall. She was always full of life and so positive. I saw Vicki out running errands once during her battle with cancer. You would never know she was fighting such a horrible disease. She told me she was going on a cruise and planned to live life to the fullest and I'm sure she did. She was was a beautiful lady and will be dearly missed.

We knew each other when we were young, we went our separate ways, but you were always in my thoughts. When we reconnected, it was as if time had never passed. During your time of treatment, you always were thinking of others and asking how I was. You're the strongest person I have ever known. You are beautiful women inside and out. I'm so glad we talked the last few weeks. I will miss you.
God Bless you Vicki
