William Schnelle Obituary

With his family by his side, Bill passed away in Santa Rosa on October 7, 2010 after a valiant battle with lung cancer. Dearly beloved husband of Paula (Kelly) Schnelle; loving father of Melissa (Reuben) Romandy and Tracy (Ryan) Pelleriti; adored grandfather of Natalie and Jameson Romandy; brother of Lani (Stan) Beneveds; uncle of Valerie Patchett and Jennifer Mohs. With his passing, Bill joins his mother (Shirley), father (Bert), and brother (Jim). Bill was born and raised in Santa Rosa. Bill was a graduate of Mark West Elementary, Santa Rosa Junior and Senior High Schools and attended Santa Rosa Junior College. After 17 years apart, Bill married his first love, Paula, and had a wonderful 29 years together. Bill won the "World's Greatest Dad" award for 29 consecutive years! He had a wonderful and quirky sense of humor which is carried on by his two beautiful daughters whom he was so very proud of. He enjoyed concerts, classic car shows, garage sales, and cruising the back roads of Sonoma County in his corvette (a dream fulfilled). His most treasured time was with his family and especially with his two grandkids. He is greatly missed and forever loved by his family and by his shadow, Busta (his dog). Friends are invited to a Celebration of Bill's Life on Saturday, October 23rd at 1:00 p.m. For specific information, email: [email protected]. If desired, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1451 Guerneville Rd #220, Santa Rosa, CA 95403. DANIELS CHAPEL OF THE ROSES FUNERAL AND CREMATION, 525-3730

Dear Bill,
Even though most of our time together was in our younger years, I still loved getting together and playing Hearts with you and Paula after we 'settled down' and got married. You surprised me with a side of you that I did not know when you became the most loving of fathers and devoted husband... Who knew?

Tracy & Melissa: In our junior college days, your dad and I were a couple of 'Merry Pranksters' enjoying life at every turn. We frequented rock concerts at the Philmore and Winter Land and your dad got to go to the free concerts in Golden Gate Park (I had to work). We would also spent countless hours at the coast enjoying the moment with our twisted senses of humor that resulted in hours and hours of uncontrollable laughter... Good times.

Paula, as you and the girls already know, you were extremely blessed to have shared your lives with your father (husband). His unique sense of humor was always present, ready or not, and I'm quite sure that Melissa and Tracy have inherited this wonderful trait.

I will miss you Bill, and I want to thank you for being a rich part of my life.

Forever friends,
Martin Quinlan
