To the White family,
My prayers are with you especially at this time. I can't remember the first time I met Art, but I do remember the love, care, concern he had for all of his kids, and the grandkids.
I remember that he liked to cook. We had french toast and he put peanut butter on it. Now, I'm a peanut butter fanatic too, but on french toast? Well, of course I tried it. Delicious and "healthy".
I also remember how he loved pizza.
I was there a time before Easter. He filled umpty-ump number of plastic Easter eggs with chocolates for the egg hunt at church. Imagine a big man, with big hands--opening those Easter eggs. It was a wonder he didn't get frustrated and just ate the chocolates!
Faith heals. And in this time of Advent hope, let us cling to our God waiting for our turn to meet Art, Debbie, and your Grammie Ruth again.

Dad, I hope we did you proud today. We wanted to honor you as much as you showed love to us, but I am afraid we could never come close. I know you would have been so happy seeing us laugh and tell stories, seeing the boys all dressed up and just spending time outside. I know you are more happy now than we could ever imagine. I miss you every day and feel like you will just come walking around the corner any minute now. I can't wait to see you again and look forward to when we will have eternity to get to know each other without all the pain and suffering in the way. You'll have to show me the ropes when it's time for us to be together again. I can't wait to stand in the crowd with you and worship our God together. I will do my best while I am still on this big ball of dirt to keep honoring you by emulating all the good qualities that you shared with me and making sure people in my life can see them too. Thank you for sharing your big life with me. I love you.
Thanks, Dad...
