Domitila Martinez Obituary

Domitila was a resident of Petaluma for the past 30 years. She died Sunday, November 14, 2010 from a long illness at the age of 87. She passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by all her family. Domitila was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico on August 24, 1923. Prior to moving to Petaluma, she lived in San Francisco then South San Francisco, where she raised her family. She is survived by her loving husband Isaias; adoring daughters, Gloria Martinez Asaro and husband Kurt Fillmore, daughter Viola Lopez and husband Jim Lopez, daughter Marie Dyer and husband Robert Dyer; beloved grandchildren, Matthew Asaro and fiancée Julie Snogles, Marcus Asaro, Devario Lopez, Andrea Garcia and husband Michael Garcia, Desiderio Lopez, Adriana Lopez, Miguel Chavez and Francisco Chavez; one sister, Lourdes Roybal; numerous nieces and nephews; caring in laws and special friends who knew her and loved her. A celebration mass will be held in her honor, Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at St. James Church in Petaluma, CA. She will be buried at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon, CA.

Tillie and Ike and their family unhesitatingly opened their homes and hearts to my family. We always enjoyed spending time with them.

I have fond memories of childhood visits to San Francisco, as well as Auntie Tillie and Uncle Ike's visits Santa Fe. Such a long time past, but still very dear to my heart. My most heartfelt condolences go out to Uncle Ike, my primas and their families.

God Bless You All,
We will always remember the times we had with all of you at Tillie's home they were good times and fun times.She would always say hit it girls. We will miss her very much and we will have you all in our prays.

Our "Favorite Aunt Tillie" will be missed dearly. We will never forget that she always had someting under the tree for us at Christmas over the years...and something to eat! Tillie is at rest now with her mother, father, brothers and sisters. Our prayers and love are with Uncle Ike at this very difficult time.
