Nina, Tatiana and Dougie,
Words just can't seem to express my sorrow. Douglas was the most dedicated father and husband I knew. When my own father passed, my comfort came from knowing my dad was a good man, good father and everyone he met loved him. Your father was another of those men. Warm, funny and caring. So often Nina and I have spoke about having "one of the good ones". The outpouring of love from your friends and family is a testimony of the man your father was. We loved him. We'll miss him dearly.

May God Bless you and comfort you all in this great time of grief. I know he is proud of you and will continue to watch over you everyday!

Nina, Tatiana and Dougie
I pray for your peace, strength and comfort. I miss the best neighbor I have ever had, almost twenty-three years. Yes, he left us way too soon, but it helps knowing he was doing what he loved. I sure miss seeing Douglas out front greeting me home from wherever I've been, so simple, yet it meant so much. You might be surprised at my missing the noises Douglas would make doing things outside the house.......this might sound odd, but I found the noises he would make, comforting, I didn't feel so alone. So Dougie please go out there once in a while and rattle a few things. I won't feel so alone and I will think of your dad, my friend. We can't have Peanut being the only noise maker on the other side of the fence. I'm here for all of you, let me help and maybe make a difference. I am just sooo sorry Douglas is not here, he will be greatly missed. Nina, the strength I see in you is a wonderful inspiration.

Nina, Tatiana, Dougie,
We are so sorry for your loss. We sure enjoyed hang out with Doug and Dougie at the motocross track. Dougie your dad was so proud watching you race. Like everyone we can't believe he's gone but we all know Doug is watching over us and saying to the boys on the side line push harder you guys and keeping them safe.

I am so sorry for Douglas’ passing. He was taken way too soon... I know you will be strong for yourself, for the kids and for him, because that’s the kind of person you are, but I am and will always be here for you if ever you want to talk. You, the kids and Douglas are in my thoughts and prayers everyday. I love you all. May he rest in peace.
