Elizabeth Thomsen Wynant

At Betty's request, no photo will be printed; however, folks knowing her will remember her warm inviting smile, easy laugh, positive attitude, and lovely blue eyes. She was a gentle loving soul, the heart of our family, giving so much joy to everyone who knew her. She was the daughter of Hazel Madeline Walker and Joshua Melvin Anthony of Maryland. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Newton Babbini; her grandsons, Mark and Steven Newton; her beloved great-granddaughter, Shanti MacKay Newton; her brother and his wife, Robert and Mary Anthony of Maryland; and her nieces Robin Varacalle and Mary A. Butler and their families. Her special friends are many, some of whom are Godfrey Babbini and family, Joan and Steve Robinson, Carol and Ken Kempton, Alma Rosenau, Louise Dunford, Dorothy Burney, Julie and Allen Daugaard, Kelly MacKay, Ali Goldstone, and Virginia and Gary Boswell. Betty was predeceased by her husbands, Einer C. Thomsen, and Ken Wynant. She was born in Maryland and married Einer, a native Californian from Sonoma. She moved to California where they made their home and Einer became a Highway Patrolman. Betty was retired from the Santa Rosa City Schools, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing cards, clipping coupons, cookies, toast with jelly, playing her keyboard, and spending time with family, especially her great granddaughter. Words cannot express the void we feel without her, and how grateful we are that she shared her life with us. We will look for her in rainbows. She was the light in our lives. Family and friends are invited to her service on Wednesday, October 27th at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at Calvary Cemetery in Santa Rosa, interment to follow. A reception will be held in Windsor. Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
