I've known Harvey for more than 2 decades via online communities, as we shared the same hobby. His stories were always among the best ones I heard. I wish we had met in person someday, but the distance never allowed. He was such a kind and helpful man and even if we never met in person, a true friend. May you rest in peace dear brother !!!

Danella and Ian, I grieve for your sorrow and for Harvey's life. There's no need to say, "may his memory be a blessing," because obviously it will be. The love Harvey and Danella expressed for each other over the years was inspiring, and I hope it makes the pain a little less to have had all that joy.

Harvey made everyone laugh and I was in awe with all that he knew. He was a wonderful story teller and loved his family and friends. It made my heart skip a beat when he would talk about his wife with adoration and love, which he always did... He knew how to make someone feel so much better because of his personality. He is definitely missed - but will always be fondly in my heart. My condolence to Danella and Ian and family.

sorry to hear. Harvey was a longtime meditator who I knew in NY I believe, in the 1970's. He was very dedicated and funny.

I remember Harvey fondly from our JHS days at Wade. We reconnected through Facebook where his love for his family and sense of humour was always present. I'll never be able to look at a goat or sheep without a tear in my eye. Harvey you were taken from us way too soon. My heart goes out to Danella and Ian. Rest well my friend.

While Harvey and I only met face to face once at my Navy retirement party, through over 15 years of online discourse he became a dear friend. It was an honor to know him in any capacity and his friendship will be sorely missed. Farewell my friend.

I worked with Harvey during his stint with Kaiser Permanents. I still remember how easy it was to talk with him and how straight forward he was. He didn't have time for any B.S. and that is what I most appreciated in him. I always enjoyed our conversations and do miss him.

Harvey was always a champion for the underdog, and was helpful to me many times in my life. I was privileged to work with him in computer tech support and repair, and we had many full belly laughs during that time, and in the years afterwards when we maintained our friendship. Danella, I know how much he always loved you and Ian. You were the center of his universe, and the well of strength he drew from, in order to shine as brightly as he did.

Harvey helped my boyfriend at the time (O.J. Jackson) get a job as a Peace Officer with the NYC Parks Dept.. O.J. passed away a few years later at a young age from a seizure. I will always remember how grateful O.J. was to Harvey because it was the best job he ever had. He loved that job and Harvey for giving him that opportunity. Harvey was a true mensch. Thoughts and prayers to Danella, Ian and the family.

Such a sad time. To me, Harvey epitomized New York jive cool. When we first started talking on the phone, it was back in the mid '70's and Harvey was the first person I ever dealt with who was fast talking, had an opinion on everything, and had a eclectic taste from Jazz, to rock, to Pigpen and the Blues (hated the Godchaux's). We traded reels back then, never cassettes, Harvey was always high def. When decades later, we finally got to meet face to face at a California poster show, I found him instead to be this gentle, kind family man who I think at that time was working at a local synagogue 70 hours/week, or maybe Dean of a college working 70 hours/week, or was it an IT guy working 70 hours/week for Kaiser? Do you see a pattern here? Harvey was always on a voyage, but always remained one of the nicest people you could ever meet. I was honored to host Harvey (and Ian) here at Oyster Bay a few times and we had a blast. Harvey had hysterical stories about Les Kippel and Jerry Moore and the mysterious Marty Weinberg and the early days of our hobby on the East Coast. From the Hell's Honkies to the wonderful and ground breaking San Francisco Nights compilations, he left his mark on our community.....I will miss you old chum....

Goodbye for now Harvey. You were such an authentic , beautiful human being. Every time I see a goat post , I think of you. Glad I have the memory of us going out on student strike in 1970 at Taft high school. I am so glad we reconnected on Facebook. Love to Danella and Ian and all those who knew and loved Harvey.
