James Brockman Obituary

"When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight." ~Kahlil Gibran ~ Mere words cannot express our heartache for the loss of our beloved. Uncle and dear friend. You left us far too soon, and you will be missed beyond measure. We love you Jim. May you truly rest in peace. Jim and my brother Brett were great buddies in high school. One of my favorite memories of Jim was one summer, after being away for a little while, Jim came over to visit. He had grown like 6" and was then almost as tall as Brett. He had such a proud smile on his sweet freckled face as they stood next to each other. I'll always remember that smile. My heart felt sympathy goes out to his family and friends.

I love you sooo much Uncle Jim, you were such an inspiration to me. You were such an amazing, Dad, husband, uncle, friend and a father figure to me. I wish I could have told you how much you meant to me and how much I looked up to you, I'd do anything to give you one more huge bear hug, to hear your laugh, to listen to you tease me about liking the cowboys, and making fun of me for going shopping on black friday. I am going to miss our competitive scene it games, poker games, and whatever other games we played. You left us far too soon, I am truly blessed to share my birthday with Emma, I will make sure that she will be spoiled every year! And that she knows how much you loved her. I can't wait till she grows up and I can share stories with her about her amazing daddy...I love you soo much, Rest in Peace
Love Always Your Niece

Dear Noreen, Brockman and Moretti families,
My deepest condolences in hearing the news of Jim's passing. I will always remember the fun time at the Boy's Club and playing basketball with Jim with Jill coaching and when MTV first came on and watching videos at the Brockman house. I ran into Jim again in Novato when he worked on Digital Dr and the friendship was never lost on a man with such a good heart.
May your family find peace and rememberance of the happiness he brought into our world.

I'm so shocked and saddened by the news I just heard. After reading the loving words shared by Jim's friends, once again I'm reminded how easily we lose touch with our once good friends and go on about our lives, telling ourselves, I have to give him a call, then never do.
I've read nice things about your friend Jim, but I never knew Jim. I knew Jimmy.
From 1st grade to 6th grade, Jimmy, Kimo Garrigan and I were the best of friends. We played soccer, baseball and basketball together almost every day of our young lives. We spent nights at each others houses, trick or treated together at Halloween, and made kool aid stands in the summer. Jimmy taught me how to hit a golf ball in the third grade and how to blow up a pumpkin with firecrackers in the 5th!
We would swim at my house in the summer and play soccer in the mud in the winter. I remember how we would spin ourselves silly in these giant salad bowls his dad brought back from one of his flights to Japan.
We were in the same class at La Tercera every year (track 2!) from 1st thru 6th.
I'll always remember how funny Jimmy was. And Hyper! We used to bounce off the walls together!
In junior high we drifted into different circles of friends, but started reconnecting the last year of highchool. We would see each other at parties and go to Jeffs studio to watch his band rehearse, and even though at that time we hung with different friends when we saw each other out, there was a neat bond there. And we would talk about the old days... when we were just little kids without a worry in the world except if one of our teachers was going to call our moms to complain how we were disrupting class!
They always did! Because we always did!
I'll always regret that we never reconnected as adults...But from 1st thru 6th you were my pal.
I'll never forget you Jimmy...
love, Azy

Noreen I just wanted to share my fondest memory of Jim. It will always be the weekend you spent in McArthur. Jim and Mitch were taking care of the girls upstairs when I walked in and I have to tell you , I have never seen two men more proud of being Dads to both of their little Princesses. Jim even laughed off when Mike teased him about doing womens work. Keep all of your good memories close to your heart during this very difficult time. Now is the time to let the love of your family and friends take care of and comfort you and Emma.

I worked with Jim at Landmark Calendars from 95-97. I didn't know Jim very well but, my now husband Erik worked closely with Jim and always considered him his mentor. One memory I have is, Jim gave Erik tickets to a football game and Erik invited me to go with him. That was 14 years ago, so thank you Jim. May you rest in peace. I wish peace and healing for your Mother, wife, daughter and family.

I worked with Jim back in 1995-1997 at Landmark Calendars. I can't say that I knew him very well because he worked in the finance department and I in the licensing department. But, my now husband worked closely with him, and looked up to him and always thought of Jim as his mentor. One great memory I have is that Jim gave Erik tickets to a football game that Erik invited me to, and that was our first date. Now 14 years later I am thankful to Jim for giving Erik those tickets. May you rest in peace and I wish peace and healing for your family. Dana McCormick-Nommsen
