Jeanne Barsi Obituary

Jeanne Claire Barsi died peacefully on Thursday, June 9, 2011; she was 83 and a resident of Windsor, CA. A native of California she was born on June 12, 1927 to Frank and Irene Brennan in Berkeley where she grew up. She moved to Glen Ellen and attended Sonoma Valley High School where she met and later married the love of her life, George. He preceded her in death in 1995. She is survived by her loving children; Jan Giordano (Ray) and Dave Barsi (Wanda); and grandchildren Shannon Backus (Kevin), Christine Barsi, Alicia Shaw (Mike) and Joesph Giordano and two adoring great grandchildren; Jackson and Brooklyn Backus. Jeanne is also survived by her brother, Howard Brennan. She was preceded in death by her sisters Aileen Bermingham (Walter), Dorothy Miller, Ruth Yates (Bill), and her brother Edward. She leaves 17 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. Jeanne loved her family, gardening, fishing, playing the piano and traveling, especially to Hawaii. A visitation was held on Monday, June 13, 2011 at 7:00 PM at Duggan's Mission Chapel, 525 West Napa Street, Sonoma, CA 95476. Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass and Celebration of her life at St Leo's Catholic Church, 601 West Agua Caliente Road, Sonoma, CA 95476, today, Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Donations may be made in her name to the Charity of your choice. Arrangements under the direction of Duggan's Mission Chapel, 525 West Napa Street, Sonoma, CA.
