Today I saw that the dog show was going on at the cow palace. I thought of Joanne right away and tried to find her on facebook. Instead I found the bad news. Joanne was a great lover of people and american eskimos. My Sierra, was one of her puppies and is my best friend . I'll always thank God for bringing me together with Joanne. She'll always be remembered and missed

I remember Joanne from High School. She was one of the nicest people to be around. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone. She will be missed, but not forgotten. My sympathies go out to her family and loved ones.

Love of the American Eskimo Dog brought us together as friends. Joanne joined the NWAEA just a few months before I did. We became fast friends, especially since we both lived in Santa Rosa at the time and neither of us knew what we were doing in the dog show world! Throughout the next 14 years, I grew to love and respect her more and more, as I saw the eclectic sides of Joanne's life: artist, musician, dog fancier, people lover, helper, friend. She was also a fierce competitor in the show ring! We served as officers in our dog club together, she as my faithful VP and advisor. Her presence at dog shows was always noticed, as Joanne boldly sang the Star Spangled Banner and her dogs chimed in. Her mural of the American Eskimo Dog (Model: her dog, Luke) graces dog events, when possible. Her creative trophies are found in many Best of Show winners' homes, as well as Eskie portraits painted by Joanne. Joanne was a glowing light in my life, and she will be truly missed. I am deeply sorry for your loss, dear family of Joanne. May you carry her glow within you, forever.

My parents owned a restaurant in Petaluma, The El Sombrero, and I met Joanne, who was a long time customer while working for my parents as a teenager....she later sang and played her guitar at my wedding, certainly helping to make my special day just perfect! She will be so missed and my sympathies to her loving family. Carole 'Hartley' Reif

Joanne and I met in 7th grade and became best friends all through school. She and I saw eye to eye - we were both 6 feet tall (or close enough to call it that). We shared the trials and tribulations of growing up - the friends and romances, good times and bad but always together all through school, and music! I loved to sit on the piano bench next to her while she played. I learned to read music by being her page-turner. That was long ago and much water has gone under the bridge since then, but I have always held you in my heart girl. I can't believe you are gone. My heartfelt sympathies to your family and loved ones.

I deeply enjoyed giving Joanne Bible studies. She was such an honest student. If the Bible clearly taught something, she wanted to do it. Her ministry of music was always an inspiration to me and was a comfort to my soul. Soon I will see her again, when Jesus comes to take His children home. May that day be today!

I remember Joanne's smile and her friendly manner. We had fun on the playground at Lincoln Primary, always good to be around her. I am so sorry for your loss.

There are too many good memories associated with my mom to pick just one, but knowing that she was always there to pick me up when I fell made the world seem like a better place. The thing is, she didn't stop there. She also picked up other people who fell and needed help. She was a lovely, giving person, and I will miss her.
