Mary Lee Sanderson Obituary

Almost 87, died on October 8, 2010 in her home in Healdsburg, CA of natural causes. Her children and caregivers were with her as she passed peacefully into eternal rest. Mary Lee was born on a dairy farm in Bernice, LA, the oldest of five children: C.W. Andrews, who preceded her in death (Mittie); Edna Brown (Malcolm); Evelyn Tippett (Bob): and Jerry (Pat). In 1945 she came to CA to marry W.C. "Sandy" Sanderson, her lifelong love who preceded her in death nineteen years ago. They began a partnership in life and business that year when they bought the Ford dealership that became W.C. Sanderson Ford. Over the years Mary traveled widely with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She took pride in her garden and was an avid reader. She was a private person of strong character. Above all, she valued her family. She is survived by her children: Judith Sanderson; and W.C. "Timer" Sanderson (Marilyn) of Healdsburg as well as a son, Bill Sanderson of Mill City, OR. Her grandchildren include: Hugh Sanderson (Susan); Trevor Sanderson (Jackie); Erin Radelfinger (Cody); and Annamaria Sanderson. Additionally, she has three great grandchildren: Sarah and Andrew Sanderson and Mason Radelfinger. Many nieces, nephews, and family members will miss her. Visitation will be Friday October 15th, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church. Funeral Services will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Healdsburg, at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2010. A private family interment will follow at Oak Mound Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Gloria Viedma, Rosa Viedma, and Ewa Frycz for their untiring care of our Mom during the last several years. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Healdsburg District Hospital 1375 University Ave. Healdsburg, 95448, in appreciation of their outstanding care. Timer and Judy, I wish I could have been there for you at this time. Your mom was a special lady and I enjoyed her trips to North La. I will never forget the summer of 1969 when I came to visit for a couple of weeks. She was indeed a great lady. Love to all, Nan.
