MaryAnn "Grandma Mica" Nash obituary

MaryAnn Nash Obituary

ALWAYS THERE FOR OTHERS Passed Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at her home in Rohnert Park at age 67. Born August 26, 1943 in San Francisco. The daughter of Ted and Erma Maddock, MaryAnn was one of two children. MaryAnn grew up in Sebastopol, where she played in her aunt's apple orchard and enjoyed summers on Lake Pillsbury. MaryAnn Maddock married Tom Nash on November 21, 1970. They spent 40 blissful years together. They raised four wonderful children and six grandchildren, whom she leaves behind. MaryAnn was a graduate of Analy High School and enjoyed a very successful professional career at State Farm Insurance in Rohnert Park where she retired after 25 years of service. Tom and MaryAnn maintain a residence in Rohnert Park, but they were avid RV campers, annually venturing to Arizona, Oroville, and various other locations in the western U.S. MaryAnn was known for her huge heart, always ready to lend an ear. She always put the needs of her family ahead of her own. She was particularly engaged in the lives of all of her children and grand children. She often remarked that her best memories were the ones made with her grandchildren. She lived and loved and was loved deeply in return. Taken too soon and on the wings of Angels. She will be dearly missed and will live on through her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Tom, her four children Kim (Ron) Sproat, Kathy (Rich) Morris, Keenan Jones, and Kelli (Jim) Veler; and her six grandchildren Allison and Amy Sproat, Michael Morris, Riley Jones, and Brittney and Bryce Veler. She also leaves behind her two fur babies: Buck and Missy. A special thankyou to Eleni Hulanicki at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospice. A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, November 24th at 5911 Sailing Hawk Place, Santa Rosa, from 1 to 4 p.m. Donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society or Santa Rosa Memorial Hospice.

I was saddened to learn of the untimely passing of MaryAnn. When I think of her, I always remember when she trained me at work at State Farm many years ago how she was such a patient and caring person. I loved her smile and laughter. She will truly be missed. Rest in peace MaryAnn.

MaryAnn was the most kind, loving and generous person I ever knew. I worked with MaryAnn for many years at State Farm. I missed her when she retired. I knew she was a wonderful mom as she always put her children before her own needs. She always spoke highly of her husband Tom. You will be missed MaryAnn.

I remember starting at State Farm and you were the person who made me feel welcome & from that first day I could talk to you about anything. You always had that gift of making everyone feel "at home". I am so glad we shared time away from work I will always remember our "Poker Nights" and the good food and friendship we shared with you Tom, Ann and Steve. I know your kids and grandkids will have a huge void in there lives because I know how much you loved them and how devoted to them you were. Tom you were a very lucky man to have Maryann in your life, know that me and John are thinking of you at this time. I will always carry a place in my heart for you.

I always knew her as Grandma Mica as I have watched several of her grandchildren over the years and she would often come to pick them up always with a welcoming hug and smile for them. May the happy memories of Grandma Mica fill your hearts at this time.
