Mike Germolus

Mike Germolus passed away on November 27, 2010 at home in Penngrove at the young age of 64; his wife and daughter at his side. He received many hugs and kisses as he battled his way through esophageal cancer. With dignity, but not without a fight, he accepted that he was dying by getting his affairs in order. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sandra; and his daughters Kelly Germolus-Maroevich and Paula Dawn Murray, son-in-law Douglas; and grandchildren: Kimberly, Douglas and Dustin; brothers Rick, and Leon, and sister Terri. He was predeceased by his father Harry, mother Ruth, and brothers Sam and Chuck. Raised in Patterson, he was a highly regarded high school athlete. He excelled in baseball and football and when they needed him, wrestling too. And that was Mike; he was always available when needed. After retirement, his sport was golf. He was a fixture at Adobe Creek golf course. Anyone who played with him would have a story about his love/hate relationship with the game. So many times he would say "I am going to quit this @$!@ Game!" But, he made his tee time the next day. His career of 40 years with PG&E began at 18 years of age climbing poles and building towers with General Construction. After many positions with PG&E, he retired from the San Rafael Division office. No matter what position he held during his career with PG&E, he respected his work and dedicated himself fully to it. However, when he was eligible to retire, he did.
