Richard R. "Rick" Shuman Sr. obituary

Richard Shuman Obituary

Richard passed away peacefully on September 30, 2010 at his home in Rohnert Park. He was 63 years old. Richard was born on July 15, 1947 in Epherta, Washington. At the age of 17, he joined the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Independence as a Radar Operator during the Vietnam War. He later worked for the Northwestern Pacific Railroad in Northern California for nearly 20 years, he was a Brakeman and Conductor. Richard was an outdoorsman who loved raising his two sons "The Boys". He is survived by his sons Ricky and Johnny of Santa Rosa; sister Marge Thomasson of Hanford, CA. Richard was a great story teller, especially if it was about his years on the railroad or time in the Navy. He relished his time with his sons and their friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday October 10th, at 1:00 p.m. at the Windsor-Healdsburg Mortuary, 9660 Old Redwood Highway, Windsor, CA. Family and friends are invited to attend.

I couldnt have asked for a better dad. Im sure gonna miss you. Even though we were not close in the later years, I always loved you. Like so many others I will remember the great times you created. You were a little wild, rogue, unpredictable and didnt always follow the rules but always had good intentions. Im just like you and proud of it.
