Robert Briggs Obituary

Born on April 7, 1921 and passed away quietly at home at the age of 89 on November 26, 2010. He was preceded in death by his brother Raymond (Bruz) Briggs. He is survived by his loving wife, Fern of 69 years; daughter Sue (Dave) Sloat, son John (Janene) Briggs, daughter Mary (the late Knox) Campbell; four grandchildren Jon (Emily) Sloat, Mike (Lisa) Sloat, Season Arrington, and Jessica (C.J.) Shaffer. Bob is also survived by 10 great grandchildren: Kaila, Emma, Alyssa, Jimmy, Lily, Chandler, Morgan, Maci, Ada and Cash. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was born and raised in Arcata, California. He proudly served in the U.S. Army in World War II beginning in 1942. Bob managed the Villa Lodge, a sober living home for 27 years, where he changed many lives with his common sense guidance. He was a long time Giants and Raiders fan. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Per Bob's wishes, no services will be held. Donations in his name may be made to the Drug Abuse Alternative Center in Santa Rosa.
