Siv Iris Linnea Nilson

Entered into heaven and is survived by her loving husband, Stig. Siv was born in Stockholm, Sweden on May 5, 1931. She graduated from college in Stockholm, Sweden and worked for the Swedish RiksBank before immigrating to the United States where she met her future husband. They started their life together in 1958 in Evanston, Illinois and eventually moved to San Francisco where their daughter Helen was born. Siv and Stig owned and operated a motel in South Lake Tahoe for many years. Upon retirement they moved to Santa Rosa where they enjoyed the climate, the coast, and the many wonderful friends they made. They also made numerous trips to Fallon, Nevada where their daughter Helen lives with her husband Royce and two sons, Jeffery and Ryan. Siv is also survived by her sister Siri Walberg and son Per, in Sweden; and by her sister-in-law, Kerstin McCall and her husband, Don, of San Ramon, CA. Siv was an active member of the Vasa Order of America, Linnea Lodge #504 and the Scandinavian's. She enjoyed painting, knitting, sewing and household activities. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the LAFFERTY & SMITH COLONIAL CHAPEL (4321 Sonoma Highway, Santa Rosa, CA, 95409).
