Colonel, U.S. Army retired; Passed away in Santa Rosa, January 29, 2010. Dearly beloved husband of 63 years to the late Lorene "Bunny" Rager. Loving father of Terry Miller and her husband Ron, of Sebastopol; and the late Darrol Rager, and his wife Cheryl of Salinas. Adored grandfather of: Kim, Kelly, Kori, and Derek. Col. Rager was preceded in death by his twin brother Elmer Rager, sister Mary Mollohan, and his brother Glenn Rager. A native of Derry, PA, age 94 years. As 1939 West Point graduates, Edward and his brother Elmer, were the first twins to attend and graduate from West Point. Following his graduation from West Point, Col. Rager's career in the Army spanned 30 years. Serving in Germany during World War II, he was awarded the Silver Star. After retiring from the military, he became a CPA and managed the Santa Clara County Employees Credit Union. Col. Rager enjoyed playing golf, but most of all, loved being a part of the U.S. Military and traveling the world with his wife Bunny. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the DANIELS CHAPEL OF THE ROSES, 1225 Sonoma Avenue, Santa Rosa. Hi Terry,

I am truly sorry for your loss. It's great that you and Ron could be there with your father when he made his transition.

I think you will always treasure time with your dad, and will be grateful you could help so much near the end of his life. He knew you were there and loved you for it in a much different way than when you were growing up.

It's a strange feeling to trade places with them - how we become their caretakers and providers.

My prayers and compassion are with you now and in the future - for now it is your time to accept, release, and move on with your life in an expanded way.
