Barbara BELTRAMETTI Obituary

BELTRAMETTI, Barbara Jean Born in San Francisco, CA on June 5th, 1938 passed away peacefully in her Cotati home on August 9th, 2015 at the age of 77. Barbara was the daughter of Albert and Anne Grimm, however her mother remarried William McDonald when Barbara was nine. Barbara was raised in Petaluma, CA, graduating from St. Vincent's High School in 1956. Two years before graduation Barbara met George Beltrametti at a football game and they began dating. The two were married shortly after high school graduation and welcomed their first daughter LaVon in 1958 and their second daughter Londa in 1959. George and Barbara raised their daughters in Petaluma and enjoyed activities such as going on cruises, trips to Reno, horse races, family dinners, and one memorable adventure to a dude ranch in Arizona. In December of 1989, their daughter, LaVon passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer. George and Barbara assumed the responsibilities of raising LaVon's two children, their grandchildren, Michael and Jennifer, who were both young at the time. Barbara took great pride in her grandchildren and enjoyed attending Michael's trap shooting events, and Jennifer's horse shows. Barbara was also an active volunteer at their school, and loved every minute she spent with her family. Barbara felt fortunate that her other grandchildren, Nicole and Tom, also lived locally and she was able to have them over often for sleep overs and family activities. Later in life George and Barbara separated, but remained close friends and always put their family first. Barbara is joining her daughter, LaVon B. Dressel, and her beloved dog, Joey, who was always by her side, in heaven where they will be at peace. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Londa (David) Leveroni of Novato; her son-in-law, Don Dressel of Santa Rosa; and her grandchildren, Michael (Carly) Dressel of Kansas, Nicole (Michael) Hunt of Rohnert Park, Jennifer (Erik) Williams of Cotati, and Thomas James of Novato. Barbara is also survived by her six great-grandchildren, Cadden Dressel, Trinity Hunt, Dara Williams, Kyle Williams, Anthony Dressel, and Caitlyn Williams, as well as numerous cousins whom she loved dearly. A memorial service will be held at St. James Church in Petaluma on Monday the 17th of August 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, Barbara has specifically requested donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Hospice of Petaluma, and the Petaluma Animal Shelter.

Londa, I'm not sure if you remember me but I was your neighbor when your folks lived on Fair Avenue in Petaluma. I'm Cindy and my sister, Sandy, my mom and dad lived in the house across the street. You and your sister were quite young at the time so I'm not sure you would remember real well though I hope that you do. I was sorry to hear of your mom's passing. Betty Dale let me know but not until after she had seen the notice online which unfortunately was after the funeral. Again, I am so sorry to hear about your mom. She was always real nice to me when I'd come over to play with you guys. I have nice memories from those days. If you would like to chat please give me a call when it's convenient for you. 707-696-7107. Best wishes to you and your family during this difficult time.
