to Ronnie Fink's family - Dear Mark, Brian, and Lynne - you will not remember me or even know me, but I used to work at VDOT with you father for quite a number of years. I was saddened to learn of his death, although through the years I did learn of his dementia. He was, and will be remembered fondly by me and other VDOT colleagues who worked with him. My career with VDOT was very much like his - resident engineer, assistant maintenance engineer, training and presentations. His wit was quick and often funny. I will miss him, as I sure you will as well.

Mark, Brian and Lynne - Your parents made the trip from Richmond to Courtland for Dad's funeral 8 years ago and it meant so much to us. They seemed so happy and it was joyful to have a few moments to catch up with them. Shortly after that, Mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's so we understand that long battle and wanted to share our deepest sympathies for your loss. With fond childhood memories, Sharon Reese and Laura Reese Lass

Mark, Brian and Lynne, please know that our family (my mother Kathleen Maitland and sister Dianne Hack) grieve at the loss of your dad and offer our sympathy and love to you at this difficult time. We have many fond memories of both your parents and grandparents, because Dianne and I grew up right next door to your grandparents. Ronnie inherited Aunt Mae's sense of humor, which is what I remember most. Just this Christmas, one of my children reversed my N-O-E-L candle holders to spell LEON, just like your dad used to do! We will miss him.

Mark, Brian, and Lynn. I am so sorry for the loss of your dad. He was a great guy. My fondest memory was when Mark and I were trying to sneak up to the back door at night and he snuck out the front door and came around to scare the heck out of us. He will be missed but know he's in a much better place. He is again with your mom and now with my dad. "Neighbors" again!Peace be with you all. Steve

I was so fond of your parents. I worked with Janet in the library and thought so much of her. She, Pat Birdsong and I had lunch together and had such a good time. Your father had the best sense of humor and was fun to be with. So sorry for how he had to spend his last years.
