Diane M. Ridley-Smith

On Tuesday morning, Sept. 21, 2010, a sweet angel was called home. Diane Michelle Ridley-Smith, also known as "Bug," 43, went to rest with the Lord. She was a beloved, wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt.

Diane was a native of Petersburg, Va. She was a devoted church member of Harvest International Full Gospel Baptist Center Inc. She was born on June 7, 1967, to the late Alice Mae Lewis and John Richard Ridley.

She was employed at Virginia Linen for several years and at AAFES in Fort Lee for her last years here on Earth.

She is survived in death by a husband, Keith Smith; a son, Kevin Ridley; a daughter, Tisha Ridley; one grandson, Jamarre Ridley; one granddaughter, Ariyanna Jones; one brother, John Graves; three sisters, Wanda Graves, Angela Graves (Russell Davis) and Dorothy Ridley (Carlton Lowery). She is also survived by four aunts; one uncle; a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends, among them three devoted friends, Karen Bland, Cynthia Whitaker and Kevin Jones.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church of God In Christ, 233 Halifax St., Petersburg, Va.; the Rev. Jeffrey L. Dodson Sr., pastor, and Pastor Vincent Harris eulogist. The interment to follow at the Dinwiddie Memorial Park.

The family will received from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at the funeral establishment.
