Essie Grinstead Obituary
She was the daughter of the late John Rucker and Mamie Young Olsen and was the widow of George Henry Grinstead. Mrs. Grinstead was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Petersburg, and the Salvation Army (Home League).
She is survived by her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Ann Grinstead Droddy and husband Larry Neal Droddy; son, Larry Eugene Grinstead and wife Mary Lou Grinstead of Lady Lake Florida; three grandchildren, Terry Wasiupa, Wesley Grinstead, Randy Grinstead; five great-grandchildren and many loving friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, 23834, with the Rev. Dwayne Walker, and the Rev. Michael Ruppert officiating. Interment to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park Prince George, Va. The family will receive friends Monday Nov. 8, 2010, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.

David and I were sorry to hear of your Mom's pasing. She now rejoices in heaven with the Lord. Our prayers are with you and your family. Even though we know this time of life comes, it always brings sadness to our hears. May the Lords give you strengh and bless your family.
