Anselum Savedge Obituary

Anselum Timothy "Tiny" Savedge Jr., 85, of Littleton, passed away on Friday, Nov. 6, 2009. Born on Dec. 11, 2009, in Littleton, he was the son of the late Anselum T. Savedge and Felicia Studebaker Savedge.

Tiny was president of the Littleton Hunt Club for numerous years and a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. A lifelong farmer, he enjoyed cooking and he was especially close to his three granddaughters.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Newton Savedge; three sons, A.T. "Bo" Savedge III and wife, Lou of Homeville, John Michael Savedge of Littleton, Aetius James Savedge and wife, Teresa of Littleton; four grandchildren, Jamie Savedge, Mia Savedge, Skye Savedge, and Angie Savedge, a brother, James Richard "Dick" Savedge of Reidsville, N.C.; a sister, Ann Criser of Wilmington, N.C.; great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other relatives, and his devoted caregiver, Patricia Artis. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Savedge and a sister, Joyce Harriss.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at 1 p.m. at the Purviance Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home in Wakefield with the Rev. Connie Gibbs-Morris officiating. Burial will follow at the homeplace. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Waverly Rescue Squad, P.O.
