Branden Prealeau Obituary
Branden was born on Feb. 7, 1987, in Petersburg, Va., to Wanda Hamilton and Derek Morris.
Branden was educated in the Chesterfield County school system. At the time of his death, Branden was residing in Pittsburgh, Pa., where he was completing his degree at the Community College of Alleghany County, as well as a member of the Army National Guard. Branden loved reading, writing, music and had a passion for feeding ducks.
Branden was preceded in death by his grandmother, Rose Smith.
He is survived by his loving mother and stepfather, Wanda and Edwin Hamilton Jr. of Montgomery, Ala.; his father, Derek Morris (Raffella) of Chesterfield, Va.; grandmothers, Nannie Prealeau and Louise Hamilton; grandfather, Freddie Morris; brothers, Devario Hawkins and Brevin Morris; aunts, Cynthia Morgan, Constance Hamilton, Yolanda Kelley (Kenneth), Renee Morris, and Bonita Morris; uncles, Michael Prealeau (Blanca), Lance Hamilton Sr. (Stacey), Orelon Morris (Cynthia), Farron Morris and Benjamin Prealeau Jr.; and a hosts of cousins and friends, including devoted Fanita Sumlin, Lajuane Gaddis, and Deono LeDoux.
The funeral services for Branden Prealeau will be held at noon Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at Zion Apostolic Christian Memorial Temple, Petersburg, Va.; Bishop Samuel Wright officiating. Interment will be in Southlawn Cemetery. The remains will rest at the church at 10:45 a.m. until the time of services. The family will assemble at 20619 Willowdale Drive in Ettrick, Va., at 11 a.m.
The family will be receiving visitors at 20619 Willowdale Drive, Ettrick, Va., and calls at (804) 504-5615.
Funeral services are under the direction of Tucker's Funeral Home, 415 Halifax St., Petersburg, VA 23803 A.A. Tucker, funeral director.

My cousin Branden was one of the my closest relatives. "B" had a strong impact on my life. He was like a big brother to me. I am at a Loss for words. He will forever remain my big Brother and boy for life.

Wanda and Edwin I just found out about Branden, I just wanted you to know that although I never met him, I am very sure that he was loved and will be missed. There truly are no words to say that will bring him back but know that the time that you had with him will always be cherised. I pray for strength and peace and joy to be always in your hearts and the Blessings of God to remind you that he will never leave you even through this time. We send our love to you and Edwin. To Wanda,
Words cannot express the sadness when I learned of Branden's death. You and Eddie, along with the rest of the family are continually in my prayers. during this difficult time.
Jesus promises in John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
The key phrase is 'my peace'.
Allow the peace of God to saturate you during this time. Those moments, you ask the questions why? Allow His peace to wrap you in a cocoon of comfort and rest as you mourn the loss of your son.

I am so very sorry to hear about your precious baby boy. I still call Andrew and Stephen my babies even though they are grown. I can't imagine how you must feel in losing Branden.
